and have started thinking about what food to prepare. This is about the extent of my planning thus far.Davis on the other hand has made TONS of plans. I couldn't help but smile and later laugh at (with) him the other night at dinner. It took him 2 hours to eat his meal because he kept having more ideas about what we could do for the party.
D: Hey Mommy, I got a idea!
Me: What's your idea?
D: I help Jace blow his candles!
Me: Ok. He probably will need some help. Please eat your food.
(moments later)
D: Mommy, I got a idea!
Me: yes
D: We need lots of balloons up on the ceiling!
Me: Good idea. We will have balloons, but not until his birthday. Please eat.
(couple bites)
D: Hey, I got idea!
Me: Another one?
D: I blow Jace's candles with this (he holds up a booger/nasal sucker and sqeezes it really hard) Like dat!
Me. hmm.. yeah i guess that would work. Are you finished eating?
and on it continues!
This morning
D: Hey Mommy, I got a idea.
Me: You do. What is it?
D: We should hide.
Me: You want to play hide and seek?
D: No, at Jace's birfday. We hide and then jump out and sing happy birfday.
Me: Oh, like a surprise.
D: Yeah! Just like Curious George!
Me: That is a good idea, but maybe when Jace is older. (at one your pretty oblivious to what's going on, it will be a surprise to him regardless!)
Have I mentioned recently that I love him! I am so happy to see how excited he is for his brother. I think it is just the sweetest thing. Warm fuzzies all over!!
Also, remember what I said a few posts back about wanting warm weather to play in the leaves, get pumpkins etc? Well, no pumpkins yet. Hopefully over the weekend (can we say 60 and sunny?) but lots of playing in leaves.
You can tell there was a slight temperature shift from the first few to the last two, but still had us a good time. The first few were in our poor excuse for a yard. We are renting with maintenance guys to do the yard work so we don't have any rakes. We used sticks and it actually worked really well! Good thing we played when we did because they have since been mowed and bagged up! The last two were of the boys playing the leaves while Aunt Vonny and I desperately searched for her car keys amidst the leave pile. Can you say whoops? Ha ha.. I am already laughing about it. Not sure about Vonny though...; )
I am nearly finished with the boys' Halloween costumes. I will post pics of those and some other fun little projects I have been working on, hopefully, in my next post. Stay tuned!
