So I've been getting a little emotional lately thinking about Jace's upcoming birthday. My little man is almost ONE! So crazy. It seems like only yesterday that Davis, C and I went trick or treating as the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker. I was the baker since I was 9 months pregnant and slightly huge. ; ) I clearly remember walking around the block of our house thinking next year I will be doing this with an almost one year old. And here we are! The time goes so fast it makes your head spin! Regardless, we have had an awesome time. We started it off last weekend by getting pumpkins.
On Sunday we carved the pumpkins. C got out his saws-all and carved them while Davis and I drew faces on our pumpkins and cleaned out the inside. I normally bake the pumpkin seeds but we decided to pass on it this year, but I am sure we'll do it again. Small seeds and mobile babies don't make the best combination ; )
On Halloween we took the boys to Rosedale Mall instead of neighborhood canvasing. It was warmer and with Jace on the move, much easier to keep away from cars! They had an absolute blast. There was music to dance to, lots of kids with costumes and of course lots of people passing out candy. Our Huckle and Lowly costumes were all put together and the boys were excited. Of course, most people didn't know who they were, but they didn't care. It was who they wanted to go as and they were happy! And it didn't really matter because they were adorable regardless if they were recognizable or not! : )
Cousin Hank was over in the morning with his fireman costume
Jace wouldn't leave his hat on (big surprise) and would giggle as I would say No, no no!
So much enjoyment and excitement on these little guy's faces. Precious moments that are forever sketched on my heart. And as Davis is already plotting his costume for next year, I find myself again thinking forward to next year.
